As I've shared on a multitude of occasions, one of my resolutions for this year is to overhaul my makeup products to find cleaner, healthier options. While I'm not an extravagant makeup user, I do wear it on a daily basis and don't see that changing any time soon. I love the routine of putting on my makeup and find that the process of putting it on my face helps me to feel amped up and ready to face the day.

I've decided to embark on this process in a very slow manner, taking the entirety of the year to slowly switch out my products one or two at a time. In January, I started out with my eyes by testing out a couple new solutions for both eyeliner and mascara. These products have now become a regular part of my routine and I continue to love them more and more with each day. For my February purchases, I wanted to stick on the theme of my eyes, so I decided to explore some clean eyeshadow options.

Here's what I got.

I use Young Living's essential oils, and the company just recently released (in Canada) their clean makeup line called Savvy Minerals. I figured that since I order Young Living products regularly anyways, I would give some of the eyeshadows a go to see if they really live up to the hype. The Savvy Minerals line is made of naturally-derived ingredients, like ground minerals, mica, and aspen bark extract. They are also infused with essential oils so they help your skin while you wear them. They encourage buildable coverage, so you can use them to achieve a variety of looks based on how you blend them together and build them up.

I ordered two different shades - one called Residual (above) and one called Crushin' (below).

The eyeshadows are a loose mineral powder, so it is recommended that you use them with a misting spray to intensify the pigments. The spray helps to give you more control over the powders when you apply them. It is also entirely plant based and is infused with essential oils. I decided to get some of that too.

So what do I think about them?

That's the funny part. You see, I haven't had a chance to try them yet. First of all, they just arrived in my mailbox two days ago. Second of all, once I got them, I realized that I didn't have any brushes to apply them with. A little bit of a duh moment on my part.

I guess we know what my March focus will be.

I'll keep you updated over the next month. For now, I will say that the packaging is clean and beautiful. I've been using Young Living's oils for over six months now and love them, so I'm hoping that these makeup products will give me the same feelings.

Thanks for reading - I'm off to hunt down some new brushes!
